My new UNITY designs are available not only on t-shirts and bags, but also note cards.  In addition to selling them in the SKCreations online boutique, they're also available at the Brentwood Arts Exchange at the Gateway Arts Center in Brentwood, MD.  On one of my recent visits there, I was told that a woman had purchased one of the cards to give to a co-worker who she had really rubbed the wrong way.  She didn't share what she had done, but she was very hopeful that the UNITY card, along with a written apology, would result in forgiveness by the person she had angered.  I hope it helped.  Even if you don't have to apologize to someone, these cards can be very handy to have around to be used for any unforeseen occasion.  You can purchase them separately, or you can get the set of six which includes two of each of the three designs, and a reusable drawstring pouch.  For more information, click here to visit the shop.

The third design in the UNITY series is titled commUNITY.  We don't have to travel far to help others.  We can spread a little love right in our own communities.  For example, whenever I go to the bank the tellers always ask how I'm doing.  When I respond I ask how they are in return, and more times than not they seem surprised by the question and thank me for asking.  I get the impression they don't hear that very often from customers, and it makes me feel good to put a smile on their face and maybe brighten their day.  It certainly makes me feel good, and a little kindness can go a long way.

I designed the UNITY collection in the spirit of being connected and helping those in need in our communities and beyond.  I had the first design in the collection digitally printed on a sophisticated Linen Cotton Canvas, from which I created the outer fabric for this roomy tote bag.  I used a durable duck cloth for the lining.  The tote bag is made to order.  To learn more, please visit the SKCreations Online Boutique.

I designed the UNITY series after traveling to Senegal and The Gambia in West Africa last Fall.  Seeing some of the living conditions in those countries sparked my desire to create a line that would be tied to giving back, here at home.  The series consists of three designs, the first of which is shown on this UNITY T-Shirt and Canvas Bag.  With the sale of each of these products, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Capital Area Food Bank or SOME (So Others Might Eat).  Both organizations have a mission to provide assistance to the hungry, poor and homeless of the Washington, DC metropolitan area.  The products can be purchased in the SKCreations Online Boutique.
